A Supernatural Series of Events! (press release)

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Blackpool-based Supernatural Events has released its new series of ghost tours and eerie experiences from May to September 2009 that includes Overnight Investigations at the Grand Theatre, return visits to Blackpool Zoo, North Pier Theatre, Blackpool’s Opera House and Spanish Hall Suite, Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks and even a coach trip to Derby!

At the beautiful Victorian Grand Theatre, the spiritual home of Supernatural Events, there are four overnight investigations on Friday 8th May and Saturdays 27th June, 18th July and 1st August. On each investigation you will have the opportunity to spend five hours ghost hunting using paranormal investigative equipment such as crystal pendulums, dowsing rods, thermometers, energy meters and motion detectors!

There is a very special guest for a super-natural Overnight Ghost Walk at the Grand on Friday 15th May, when psychic medium Ian Lawman returns to Blackpool! Ian has appeared on numerous paranormal-based television programmes including Most Haunted, I’m Famous and Frightened and just days ago saw the first episode in the second season of his acclaimed Living with the Dead series.

On Thursdays 21st May and 18th June, and Wednesdays 15th July and 16th September Blackpool Zoo opens its doors late at night for those interested in the supernatural to visit some areas that have baffled paranormal investigators in the past. Those attending will have the chance to investigate some areas of the Zoo which was the site of the original World War II municipal airport.

There is a welcome return to Blackpool’s Opera House for on Tuesdays 26th May and 21st July, and Monday 28th September when you will visit the auditorium, stage and bar areas to find out what really goes on “behind the scenes”.

There are four ghost tours at the North Pier Theatre this season; on Friday 29th May, Mondays 6th July and 10th August, and Sunday 13th September. Previous participants on tours here have seen shadows of figures, strange lights and heard strange sounds!

On Thursday 4th June and Wednesday 9th September you can have the opportunity to walk amongst the stars of the movies, popular music and telvision when Supernatural Events takes its ghost tours to Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks. These tours culminate with a walk through the Chamber of Horrors – in the dark!

Ghost tours return to the Spanish Hall Suite, situated in the Winter Gardens complex on Wednesday 10th June and Monday 17th August. These tours are extremely popular; book now before they sell out! Supernatural Events has organised a Ghost Coach Trip to Derby, the “dead centre of England”, on Friday 25th September. Those brave enough to board the luxury coach will travel to the haunted Derby Jail, owned by Richard Felix of Most Haunted fame before being taken on a ghost walk of some of the most haunted of areas within the city to learn about its ghosts, murders, executions and hauntings. The final stop is at the famous Mr Grundy’s Hotel for evening supper and to investigate the hauntings in the hotel’s cellar and bedrooms!

Grand Ghost Coach Trip - Samlesbury Hall

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Well… we’ve just come back from a fantastic night at the 14th Century Manor House, Samlesbury Hall, which is situated near Preston…

There were 25 investigators wandering around the various rooms and halls trying to find out more about the reported paranormal activity there. Samlesbury Hall has been featured on many television programmes including Most Haunted, Most Haunted Live just a few weeks ago, and Ghost Hunters International.

Did our intrepid investigators find anything? Oh yes they did! Lots of it.

Visit the Supernatural Forums over the next few days when we try to get to the bottom of some of the sightings - click on the link on the right of this page under Blogrolls to be taken to the forums… where you’ll find more information and where you can join the community and tell us about your experiences and much more!

Grand Ghost Coach Trip to Derby (including Derby Gaol!)

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

Friday 25th September 2009 - Grand Ghost Coach Trip to Derby; including Derby Gaol, Ghost Walks through Friargate area of city, haunted pubs and supper at the famous Mr Grundy’s (haunted hotel).

Supernatural Events is proud to bring you Grand Ghost Coach Trips. Throughout the year, we organise tours to some of the most haunted locations in the North West. Past tours have taken groups to Derby Gaol, Pendle Hill, Lancaster and Samlesbury Hall.

Our next trip to Samlesbury Hall, near Preston is now sold out. However, we are pleased to announce that we will be returning to Derby Gaol for a fantastic evening of tours, murder, mystery and hauntings on Friday 25th September!

We will be departing from Blackpool’s Grand Theatre at 3.30pm by luxury coach to travel to our first stop, the haunted Derby Gaol. After a tour of the Gaol, we will then enjoy(!) a ghost walk of some of the most haunted of areas within Derby’s Friargate area to learn about its ghosts, murders, executions and hauntings (calling in at a pub or two en route, to learn of their hauntings and maybe a little light liquid refreshment?). We finish our evening at the famous Mr Grundy’s for evening supper and to learn of (and investigate) the hauntings at the hotel when you will get the chance to go into the cellar and maybe a bedroom or two where paranormal activity is said to take place. We depart from Mr Grundy’s at 11pm for our return to Blackpool, arriving at approximately 2.00am.

Tickets are priced from only £60 per person and includes luxury coach travel, tours and supper at Mr Grundy’s. Places are limited and expected to sell quickly. Book your place now!

The first Spanish Hall Suite (Winter Gardens) overnight investigation

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

Supernatural Events ran the first Overnight Investigation in the Winter Gardens’ Spanish Hall Suite last night (7th/8th March 2009). And what a night it was! Some who attended experienced what can only be explained by the supernatural. Shadows of figures (three separate occurrences!), dancing lights, footsteps, cold spots and strange scents!

With a mixture of believers, sceptics and non-believers it was the perfect mix of investigators who walked around the Baronial Hall, the Renaissance Room and the Spanish Hall in the dead of night to try and find out what really goes on “behind the scenes”.

All three rooms delivered some kind of phenomena that could not be explained away scientifically. In fact some equipment suffered power failure when trying to record video or photographs, then when away from the area the equipment came “alive” again!

It is hoped we can have further investigations in the Spanish Hall Suite to delve deeper into its mysteries.

A fantastic night!
